A newcomer to the Artist Consortium, Piotr Pieścik reached out to the NOCF after the conclusion of the spring raffle to benefit the Ukranian refugees. He generously donated this model in honor of the refugees that continue to struggle as the war continues in Ukraine.
Here is what Piotr had to say about this piece:
"This mini was released by Monster Fight Club as a fundraiser for World Central Kitchen, which was at the time helping Ukrainians affected by the war. Funds were raised by selling STL files which anyone could print. I really liked the mini, and at the time I was looking for ways to help the cause with my art, so I jumped at the occasion and bought the mini – unfortunately, it sat in the drawer for a couple of months. I knew Poland’s biggest minipainting competition, Kontrast 2022, was fast approaching (it was held in June this year), so I decided to have a go and paint it for the competition. To my surprise, it won a gold medal in the historical miniature category! Now I have a chance to complete the circle and have the miniature help again, this time by being raffled as a completed work. I initially wanted it to be raffled at Nova’s Ukraine raffle, because it fit the theme perfectly, however I discovered it too late – but I still can have it support Doctors Without Borders with the money it will hopefully raise, and they work in Ukraine, too, so that is great anyway!"
