The NOVA Open Charitable Foundation began operating in 2013. Its mission, as a non-profit, is fundraising to demonstrate the compassion and generosity of the world-wide tabletop wargamer community. To date, over $130,000 has been donated to numerous charities – primarily, Doctors Without Borders/Medecins Sans Frontieres, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and Fisher House Foundation.

This summer’s TWENTY-TWO (22) SUMMER RAFFLES focused on those three amazing charities.

More than $10,000 was raised through the NOVA Open Charitable Foundation Charitable Army Raffle. The winners were selected through an online randomizer system and announced at the closing awards ceremony of the 2013 NOVA Open Convention.

And the winners are….

The Lightish Red Army to benefit The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Jake Schneider Hobart Tasmania, Australia

House of the Silent King to benefit The Fisher House. Eric Fontaine Dixon, Missouri

Redemption of the Fallen to benefit Doctors Without Borders. Patrick Weber Central Point, Oregon

The highest bid for the Dark Angel Fortress was made by Frank Edwards of Westville, Indiana. The beautiful terrain just barely fit into the bed of Frank’s pickup truck to go home to Indiana.

Our biggest fundraising events will be charitable army raffles, which focus on engaging the tabletop miniature gaming communities. Raffle tickets are sold online HERE continuously until the drawings which will occur at the NOVA Open Convention on Sunday, September 1, 2013. This year, there are three painted armies being created for the following causes:

  • 40K Dark Angels: Redemption of the Fallen for Doctors Without Borders
  • 40K Necrons: Fancy Project Title for Fisher House
  • Warmachine/Hordes: Fancy Pink Project Title for Breast Cancer Research Foundation
